Hey everyone,
I hope you had a great weekend! :)
For this week's update, we have some awesome progress to share and, more importantly, a date for the Backerkit pledge manager opening! Let’s jump right into the radicalness!
THE BACKERKIT PLEDGE MANAGER WILL BE SENT ON APRIL 21ST
All backers will receive an email with access to their pledge manager, where you can add any add-ons you missed the first time and provide us with your T-shirt/shoe size. All non-sold-out or tier-exclusive rewards will be available to all backers one last time, including comic variants, t-shirts, pins, and all the various merch from the initial campaign.
More importantly, provide us with your shipping address. You will be able to update your shipping address until we start the packing order process. The shipping and VAT will be charged shortly before we expedite your package.
Note for Apple ID users (ignore if you don’t use Apple ID)
Backers who have pledged to the campaign using their Apple ID but haven't fully set up their Apple Pay account (linking their email address to their Apple Wallet) may have trouble receiving emails from BackerKit. Please update your Apple Pay email as soon as possible to prevent this from happening again. You can learn more about hiding your email when signing in with Apple here.
If you have not linked your Apple ID before April 21st, you will need to contact BackerKit support, who will manually grant you access.
COMIC PAGES INKING COMPLETED - Done ✅
Jorge Corona has inked 100% of the pages. He is done, and it looks outstanding. All the team, we believe he did his best work to date. We are all giving our 110% to give the Swat Kats the comeback they deserve and that YOU deserve. Here's a sneak peek at his gorgeous work!
Sarah is currently coloring the remaining pages, and we are working on the final dialogue (lettering). We are really close to completing art production! We added notes on Production Tracker about what has been accomplished in the past week, our progress, and what's coming up: Click Here.
See you next week for the BIG update and Backerkit Pledge Manager!
We will be hard at work this week, looking at everything on the pledge manager another 100 times to be sure that we bring you as smooth an experience as possible. Our partners Zoop and BackerKit did an excellent job; it wasn't a colossal task, close to 7,000 unique orders. Thank you again for your patience. You are truly the best community, and we couldn't be prouder every morning that we wake up to work on this to be part of it. Next week is the big week, and the whole team will be mobilized to answer your questions and support you in the process.
PS: Quick shoutout to my friends making beautiful books!
Chris Stevens works with us at Roditeli Productions, and he has an awesome project on Kickstarter right now. I love Dinosaur Mayhem. I had no choice but to share it with you! The comic book masterpiece by Stephen Bissette is finally collected in both complete and original art editions, lovingly designed by Jim Rugg. Check out TYRANT: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/comicslighthouse/bissette-tyrant-deluxe-editions
Congrats to them and their team for the awesome creations!
END OF TRANSMISSION. _BINGO
Radical art production progress & items signing! // It was a busy week for the Kats!

Hey everyone,
I hope you had a great weekend! :)
I'm really excited about this week's update because a lot has progressed in the book's production since the last update! Jorge has now inked 30 pages of the book, and they look fantastic. Serge has also finished a full first draft of the book lettering. We update this Google Sheet. We added notes about what has been accomplished in the past week and what's coming up: Click Here. Here's a detailed breakdown of the new progress!
Page inking - Production in progress 🐱
Jorge has now completed inking 30 pages of the book. If you're unfamiliar with comic book creation, there are four steps for each page before the lettering: First, the layout: essentially a storyboard where the artist visualizes how to bring the script to life, acting as a 'movie director' for the comic. Next, the creative team reviews and provides notes. The second step involves the artist creating a detailed pencil version of the layout, incorporating the notes (to be reviewed by the team again). Third, the artist inks the pages, transforming pencil lines into bold black ink, adding depth, and preparing the pages for coloring by highlighting the key elements. Step 4: The colorist attacks!
He inked some key scenes in the book, and I can hold myself. Here's a non-spoilery sneak peek (Panels are from different pages). Jorge is making every panel that we had in mind while writing the script even more RADICAL!!!:
Page Coloring - Production in progress 🐱
As I mentioned in the page inking section: Colorist attacks! Sarah is following behind Jorge; she is already working on fully inked pages. At the moment, I'm writing this update, 12 pages have been fully colored, and Sarah is working on the next ones. This way, production progresses faster rather than waiting until the end of the inking process for no reason. Sarah is capturing the unique color palettes of the TV shows on every page. One thing that was super important to the Tremblay Bros. and me: working with a colorist who understood how vital color is in the Swat Kats universe. I personally think that was one of the key elements that made Swat Kats successful: its color palette was sooooooo different from other cartoons on air. And to me, Sarah was the person who could achieve that over Jorge's work.
Here's another sneak peek... this time: Sarah's colors!
Lettering First Draft - Done ✅
Serge finished the first draft of the lettering. This is an important step in the production process where he takes the script and adds speech bubbles over the pencil or ink pages so we can read the dialogue on the actual comic pages while the artist(s) work on the final versions. It’s personally my favorite moment! It's pretty much like editing a film. After the artist creates the pages, some elements may have changed; the flow of a scene might differ from what’s in the script, and it's 99% for the better. When we write the script, we think about the best way for the artist to depict the action, and then the artist provides their best version. The layouts are always full of great ideas! That said, the first-draft lettering helps us identify the adjustments needed to match the artist's sequential art choices. It’s also the time to enhance the dialogue, change some words to better fit facial expressions, and refine the flow. Then we (the writers) send all our dialogue edits to the letterers, who will make the final edits to the speech bubbles and dialogue.
It's sneak peek week, so here's a lettering sneak peek:

Caps signing - Done ✅
The first merch signing by the Tremblay Bros is complete! Yvon and Christian have signed 300 caps. The quality is stunning. We can't wait for you to receive them and see how awesome they are. The product is top-tier, from the Kickstarter-exclusive box to the cap!
Here's a little video from Christian Tremblay while he was signing the caps this week:
Bookplates/Postcards - Sent to the printer 🖨️
Now that The Tremblay Bros. are done with the first wave of signatures (the caps). We are getting ready to ship them a second wave of items to sign. Both the bookplates and the postcards will be signed by Tremblay. The bookplate is exclusive to the Deluxe Edition of the book, and the postcards were available as add-ons and will be available again on Backerkit.
The Hardcover Deluxe Editon Exclusive signed bookplate
Backerkit - in progress (We are getting really close!) 🐱
The team at Zoop did an excellent job of implementing all the shipping rates and ensuring that each add-on and reward is properly linked to your pledge. On Thursday and Friday (March 19-20), we (Roditeli Productions) had an intensive review session and went over each product one by one. We still have a few small edits to make and want to ensure our support team is prepared to answer all your questions about shipping once it goes live, but we are getting very close. I'm confident you will receive the survey by the beginning of April MAX and will have one last chance to add items to your package before we begin the fulfillment process. Multiple backers asked about updating their shipping address; don't worry, the address on Kickstarter doesn't matter. You will still be able to update your address on the Backerkit pledge manager until we start shipping the rewards. We know that life can bring changes, like moving! We've made sure you can update your details right up until the very last moment. 🏠☑️
✨ This was the progress for this week! ✨
Thank you so much for your support again; it truly means a lot. Bringing this book to life and the Swat Kats back with you in such a meaningful way is a dream come true for us!
PS: Quick shoutout to my friends at Stranger Comics!
My good friend Sebastian of Stranger Comics is making a Niobe Anime movie and an Untamed live-action with Viola Davis! Knowing that a lot of you are animation fans. They're having a KICKSTARTER to celebrate with a deluxe Omnibus Tales of Asunda Hardcover and Untamed comic with bonus D&D material! Here's a frame from the upcoming show:
MEGA update: Rewards production has started and more! (Weekly Update #1)
– Mon, Mar 02, 2026 at 08:28:12 PM
Hey everyone, hope you are doing well!
First of all, Production Tracker will show a LOT of movement - we are entering an exciting moment in the production! Each time there's a new development, we update this Google Sheet and even add behind-the-scenes notes to be sure you are as much a part of the production as possible: Click Here - YOU are part of the team, and it is important to us that you can follow the production! We are gearing up the Turbokat right now for merch production and sending items to the Tremblay Bros for signing.
Now that we are entering the action-packed stage of the project, we will also be posting Kickstarter updates every week until the project is delivered! You are currently reading the first update (March 02, 2026).
PREMIUM GIANT COIN - Done ✅
The coins are now fully produced. We made 600 of them. Around 50 will still be available on the Backerkit Pledge Manager. They turned out GREAT!
PINS - In production 🐱
The pins are now in production. We made 650 of the Jorge Corona pin and 350 of the Callie Briggs pin. Special thanks to Matt from Swatkats.info for designing them!
We will post pictures of the final project with you directly as soon as we get them! We are stocked. Matt and his team are really bringing top quality!
CAPS - Done ✅ (Need to be signed)
The caps and exclusive Kickstarter boxes are on the way! We ordered 150 of each (Razor & T-Bone). There will be a super-limited number of extra units available on BackerKit. All will be signed by both Tremblay bros and come in a custom, exclusive box!
Yvon Tremblay will be receiving all the caps on Wednesday to start signing the caps and boxes!
Tracking info from UPS
Yvon will do an unboxing once he gets the caps! The whole team can't wait to wear them around (Now that I think about it, that's probably where my Callie Pins will go, on my cap! - perfect combo)!
T-SHIRTS - Production in progress 🐱
Supporting local and small businesses is important to us. We want Kickstarter's success to also benefit our community and passionate entrepreneurs who want to be part of the Swat Kats journey, not some random giant corporations. We decided to produce all merchandise in Canada and the United States. The t-shirts are made in Quebec, Canada (where the Tremblay Bros. and I are from!). In addition, we decided to UP the quality of the shirts, spend more on them, and put an official Swat Kats merchandise label on each t-shirt! Because... YOU are getting the First Ever Official Swat Kats merchandise T-shirts, and they needed to be radical:
NOTE: The T-shirts are not printed yet; only the premium labels are ready. We are waiting for the BackerKit pledge manager to ask for your sizes. Don't worry, you didn't miss any T-shirt size survey. It is not out yet.
Speaking of Backerkit!
We have provided ALL data and information to our fulfillment partners, and we are waiting for the green light to send the survey your way. As soon as we can, we will send it your way! Again, we apologize for the delay, but we want to be sure everything is perfect and simple for you, and that you face no problems with your order. Here's a message from our shipping partners:
Hey guys, Jordan from Zoop here. We’re helping Roditeli Productions with the fulfillment of this wildly successful campaign. We see your messages about the Backerkit, and we’re here to share a little bit of “inside baseball” with you all. First of all, as you may be aware, this is one of the largest campaigns in crowdfunding history! Not only that, but we have around 140 individual items that will need to be shipped and fulfilled in a variety of configurations. We are working with expert 3rd party fulfillment partners. They have received all of the information of this campaign, and are working to make sure that they execute this fulfillment properly the first time (avoid errors). As you can imagine, with all the different variables, and the large amount of backers, there are many things that can go wrong. They are taking a little extra time to make sure everything looks good on paper before we proceed to the next step in getting everyone their surveys and shipping details.
We appreciate your patience and understanding so we can do what we need to, to ensure everyone gets the right items in their packages the first time! Once the surveys go live, the team will make sure to update you all and get that process started. Thanks again for your support, and more info coming in the upcoming weeks!
Book production sneak peek! 🙀
As I like to conclude all updates, here's some EPICNESS from Jorge Corona.
Jorge is an enormous fan of Swat Kats; he is giving it his all in the book. I might be biased, but I believe it is his best work EVER.
The intensity and detail of his pages are next level. Here's what's on his drawing table right now. I'm mind-blown and grateful that he is making this book with us.
As mentioned in our previous update, we are targeting Q2 2026. Production is taking a little longer due to the scale of the campaign (our initial campaign goal was $40k, and we broke the Kickstarter all-time record). We couldn't be more grateful, but from 40k to 750k, we would be lying if we said we saw this level of success coming. It wasn't the game plan when we set the estimated delivery for the campaign. Delivering a QUALITY project of this scale the right way requires a bit more time, as Jordan at Zoop mentioned in the BackerKit message. Also, with this extra time, Jorge doesn't need to rush his pages. Based on the pages he is making, it will be worth the extra wait. We have time to produce the highest-quality book while ensuring the merch production and shipping are done perfectly - everything is synchronized!
Side production exciting note: Sarah Stern is currently coloring a new batch of pages. That means we will be able to share some of these badass new color sequences with you next week! Click here to follow the production update!
Jorge Corona is also working on in-depth behind-the-scenes content (visit his studio while he works on Swat Kats)! We will share it as soon as we receive it from Jorge this month!
The team is committed to delivering the best possible quality and experience on Kickstarter. We couldn't be prouder of the book and rewards we are producing, and we can't wait for you to hold them in your hands! As longtime fans, our goal is to bring back Swat Kats the right way, give you a great experience, and continue building on the Kickstarter platform for this big comeback for the franchise with YOU, for more books to come, and even... (subtle teasing). Thank you so much for being part of the journey. Next week's update will include more merch production and the art production process! In addition, the Tremblay bros start signing items. BINGO!
This was the first weekly Upkates episode (update)! ❤️
PS - FREE RADICALNESS FOR ALL BACKERS (IN CASE YOU MISSED IT): Here's your copy of the Making of an Animated TV Show! 31 years ago, the Tremblay Bros. created a book titled "Making of an Animated TV Show" for an elementary school presentation and gave it to all students. Christian scanned his archive copy so we can share the PDF with you all.

Hi everyone,
Hope you are doing great and had a radical start to the year so far!
We are hard at work on book production right now, razor-focused (see what I did there)! We thought about something that would give you full transparency and an easy way to share our progress in real time. We created an accessible Work In Progress tracker that all backers can access, and we will update it as we go, including detailed information about our internal deadlines and workflow in the notes section! 😸✅
Also, please check your Kickstarter direct message. We sent a gift to EVERY backer earlier this month to thank you for the fantastic end-of-2025/new-year celebration. A full book, for FREE! 31 years ago, the Tremblay Bros. made a book titled "Making of an Animated TV Show" for an elementary school presentation and gave it to all students. Christian scanned his archive copy so we can share the PDF with you all. YOUR DIGITAL COPY IS IN YOUR KICKSTARTER DIRECT MESSAGES!!! 😸🎁
Back to the comic... here's a sneak peek! Multiple backers asked whether two specific characters were in the comic book... here's the answer:
BACKERKIT: Keep an eye out for the next updates. We will send the BackerKit survey very soon. We are making sure everything is perfect before sending it, as even a small mistake can become big at the scale of a Kickstarter campaign like this one. There are many different items for a giant-sized Radical Squadron (you) located around the globe. We want to be sure that every step is done right and the process goes smoothly for everyone. Once you receive the BackerKit survey, you will be able to add items you missed during the Kickstarter, select your T-shirt and shoes sizes, and enter your shipping address (which will be debited right before we ship your rewards).
Thank you so much for your support. We hope you like our Work in Progress Tracker sheet idea. We will try to find more innovative ways to communicate and involve you in the process as much as possible! We are thrilled and thankful for what you made possible. 2026 is going to be RADICAL in every possible way. The Swat Kats are getting ready for takeoff!
All pages Penciled and they look RADICAL!!!

Hey Everyone,
I hope you are doing well!
I just wanted to give a quick update on our production status. We have completed the pencil for ALL the pages of the comic book. Jorge is currently inking while we work on making the dialogue as tight as possible! We are on track for Sarah (colors) and Serge (Lettering) to jump on doing the colors and lettering for the rest of the book right after the holiday break.
(I did blur to not spoil anything)... We can wait for you to see the pages. I truly believe that this is some of the best work of Jorge Corona's career (a big thing to say considering that he just did the best work of his career on Transformers). You can tell in every panel that he is a fan of Swat Kats and cares about this revival; these pages are made with passion and love for the characters and universe!
Alright, here's one ''unblur'' sneak peek!
For backers that did back the ''Be A Kat'' tiers: We will be sending an email in the first week of January to get your reference. At the moment, Jorge completed the scene that you are part of, but kept your spot empty until we have your references. Keep an eye out for our email in the next week or so! We are soooo excited to make you part of the Swat Kats Universe!
When will the BackerKit open?
Many of you have asked about it. We plan to open it in January since BackerKit is not only our pledge manager collecting the shipping cost and your address, but also a second chance to add items to your package, which is why we didn't want to send it during the holidays. We will wait for everyone to come back from the holidays and be sure that there is time between the fund collection from Kickstarter and this second chance. We are conscious that our campaign was packed with items and could be easily overwhelming. Let's take some time off from our crazy jet ride!
Thank you so much for your continuing support, we have no word!! We are really happy with how the book is coming together. The whole team is giving their best work. We can't wait to share it with you in 2026!!
----
Friendly shoutout: Our fulfilment partner ZOOP currently has an AWESOME campaign for a Mega Man book in the final hours! There's plenty of radical goodies. If you love Mega Man as much as I do! Check this out, it is pretty EPIC: https://zoop.gg/c/megamanadventures
PS: Keep an eye out for our next update and your Kickstarter inbox, we will have a Christmas gift for all backers! :) Next week gonna be a Radical X-MAS!
